Jamrats is a ticketing platform open to most event types run by good-faith organizers. The list below describes what we will not host. It is a values document as well as a legal one — we believe a platform should say no to a small, clear list of things rather than silently host everything.

Prohibited events

  • Events that promote or glorify hate against groups defined by race, religion, ethnicity, nationality, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
  • Illegal activity under the laws of the organizer’s jurisdiction (unlicensed gambling, controlled substances, etc.).
  • Multi-level marketing recruiting events disguised as conferences, seminars, or workshops.
  • Events that exist primarily to defraud buyers (no real venue, no real performer, no plan to deliver).
  • Adult content or events where the primary purpose is sexual services for sale.

Prohibited content

Event listings must accurately describe the event. Bait- and-switch listings (claiming an artist who isn’t booked, claiming a venue that isn’t confirmed, fake testimonials) are grounds for removal.

Marketing to your buyers

Buyer consent at checkout includes a separate, optional opt-in for marketing emails. If you export the customer CSV to your own mailing list, you are responsible for honoring that consent state. The CSV surfaces the most-recent consent value so a buyer who opted out yesterday supersedes an old yes.

Sending unsolicited promotional email to buyers who did not opt in is a violation of this policy (and of CASL, GDPR, CAN-SPAM, etc.).

Platform abuse

  • Automated scraping of the storefront beyond what robots.txt allows.
  • Brute-force or credential-stuffing attempts against the sign-in surface.
  • Card-testing attacks (multiple low-value charges to validate stolen cards).
  • Inflated ticket counts via fake orders followed by self-refund.

Rate limits

Checkout, recovery, and contact endpoints are protected by per-IP sliding-window rate limits and a Cloudflare Turnstile bot challenge. Repeated 429 responses are expected — back off and try again. Programmatic access outside these limits is not permitted.

Enforcement

Suspected violations may result in immediate suspension of the offending event or organizer account pending investigation. We aim to notify you by email within 24 hours of any action. Confirmed violations result in termination per the Organizer Agreement.

Appeal

Suspended for something you believe was a mistake? Email hello@jamrats.com with your organization name and the suspension email reference number. We respond within five business days.
